So how does the world look like in the eyes of the Kinect’s depth camera? Wonder no more as Nick Fox-Grieg recently went around with the Kinect and shared this video to us. The Walking with the Kinect project gives us a general view on how the Kinect can perceive the depth and 3d imagery of the world’s environment. In the video, we can firmly see how the perspective of the Kinect as well as the reach of its view. Images that the Kinect encounters are displayed in a mono-colored yet 3d perspective. This gives users a point-cloud construction of their environment. This Kinect hack is proving that the device has the potential to go mobile and once that happens, we can only sit back and enjoy the different possibilities mobility can bring to the Kinect.
