Big news to all KinectHackers out there – Pervasive 2012, the 10th International Conference on Pervasive Computing, will be happening in June 2012 at the Newcastle University in the UK.
More on Pervasive from their website:
“This annual conference is the premier forum for researchers to present their latest results in all areas related to the architecture, design, implementation, application and evaluation of pervasive computing. Pervasive 2012 will include a highly selective program for technical papers, accompanied by late-breaking result posters, videos, demonstrations, workshops, a doctoral colloquium and other events.”
What’s even more exciting is that Pervasive 2012 will also be where the first Kinect Workshop on pervasive computing will be making a debut. The industry is now fully recognizing the capabilities of the Kinect and would like to show support and further its growth by hosting a venue for new ideas and to teach developers how to build better context-aware applications for the Kinect.
The hosts are currently looking for participants and we’re encouraging all of you to apply soon as there are only 30 slots available. Deadline for submission of applications is on March 16th. It’s a great opportunity to work with experts in the field and a chance to interact with other creative individuals so make sure to send in those applications at the soonest.
