We previously featured an artistic Kinect hack which involves coloring sand based on its depth from the Kinect Camera. We feature today the steps made in order to further finalize the Kinect Sand Play. This Kinect program is a prototype of the Kinect Sand Play and still showcases the impressive visual appeal that a colored projector and the Kinect can do. Heo Sanghun showcases the concept by practicing it through a book. Sections of the book change color based on their depth. This is a result of the Kinect’s depth detection capability. The developers programed the the software to change the color based on the items depth and the result is a colorful and changing item.
