A new breed of Kinect robots have arrived! The Kinect Hand Tracking Robot detects the user’s hand and adjusts its position accordingly. This video by Darren Lewis showcases the new feature of Kinect robots at work at this local exhibit. In the video, users are seen moving the robot using their hand in a touch-free environment. The Kinect mounted on the robot is able to isolate and detect the user’s hand. This then allows the robot to move in sync with the user, making a a more convenient and natural control panel for both user and robot. This simple application of the Kinect will definitely lead to more innovations in the future!
