Have your gestures create the music and necessary effects for your video! The Kinect Gesture Based A/V Performance – Chase Status is another installation to this emerging concept of movement-made music. This video by Jonathan Hammond displays the great combination of movement, audio and visuals when fused through the Kinect. In the video, 2 screens are shown, one with an existing film and the other, the user himself. Using gestures and guided by visual aids, the user then can move to create the beat and mood of the other video. Through spontaneous choreography, both videos can then exhibit stunning results, one with the user dancing, the other with the existing video but both with spectacular sound! We expect more and get more from these hybrid videos and this goes to show that the limits of the Kinect and their users have not been reached!
