The sequel to the popular first person puzzle shooter is seeing some Kinect love as the community used the popular FAAST toolkit in order to embed gesture-based commands to Portal 2. Brad Cooley shared us this Kinect hack that make use of the user’s hand movements in order to play the game. In this video, the user is able to control the movements of the in-game character, the aiming and also the firing by gesturing. This is made possible by key-mapping the game with the FAAST toolkit and also using the Kinect as the primary input device. The release of the Kinect hack on Portal 2 is a very impressive feat and gives producers an idea on using the Kinect to give additional methods of control to new releases.
