The community keeps on impressing the world with their own user made games and this time, the Kinect gears it up to burn some wheels. Youtube user atcp87 displays this custom made driving game which utilizes the Kinect’s hand tracking feature in order to steer the in-game car. In this video, a user is given control of a dirt car to steer around a tire yard. The Kinect uses the hand tracking feature in order to create a simulation of the wheel. The user then has move their hands in a steering motion in order to manipulate the direction of the car. As of now, this Kinect program was made prior to having the Hand Gesture Emulation toolkit. With improved graphics and the integration of the toolkit, we believe that this Kinect program will “drive” the user made game market to a whole new level.
