Another program utilizes the Kinect to control the classic yet effective delta robot! The Kinect Delta Robot is able to Pick Steel Balls through skeletal tracking! This video by Malte Ahlers showcases how a user’s movement can be programmed to control the actions of the delta robot. In the video, the user is seen trying to pick up 2 steel balls using the delta robot. The user is able to control the robot via hand and arm movement because of the Kinect’s skeletal tracking. The robot can then position the crane and try to pick up the steel balls at the whim of the user. Though the initial experiments of the Kinect Delta Robot may be inaccurate, it will only be a matter of time before the Kinect has properly augmented itself in the line of robotic servitude!
