Custom games are becoming the building blocks of Kinect improvements and this one best exemplifies the return to basics. The Kinect Custom Platform Game is this developer-made game that make use of user gestures in order to properly maneuver the in-game character. This video submitted by Alberto shows the different mechanics that developers can add now that the Kinect can detect user’s gestures. In this video, a in-game character (looks like Stitch) is the primary avatar for the player. The player can then use various gestures to duck, climb, jump and even change camera angles. This fully interactive environment plus the Kinect’s gesture-tracking function can really expand the way we play and see games!
