As we continue to see images controlled with motion-commands via the Kinect, more applications are using this concept to create beautiful and artistic results. One of them is this interactive picture frame which displays a moving cartoon bear. Vimeo userĀ BMCL uploaded this video showcasing how a user’s movements, captured by the Kinect, is replicated by the image in the picture frame. The resulting output is a seemingly alive picture frame which users can enjoy and interact. This concept reminds us of the memorable moving images in the Harry Potter movies. Will the franchise use the Kinect and mass produce these cinema-souvenirs? Well that is a suggestion that we hope the producers listen to.
The project was made for the Tokyo Women’s Project.
The website is in Japanese but you can still view it by going to theĀ project’s website.
