It has come down to this – the eye can now be detected by the Kinect. As the community hungers for more precise tracking, this feature of the Kinect has finally displayed eye-tracking potential. Youtube userĀ dustonly1986 showcases this latest Kinect breakthrough as the depth camera device has been given the code to detect the user’s eyes. In this video, the Kinect is able to track the user’s eyes based on the shape and look of it. As you can see, the shirt is sometimes detected because some of the graphics located look like eyes. But if this breakthrough sees further development, we’ll definitely enter a whole new ball game in the Kinect hacks community. Commands can now be given not just by body movements but also by eye-based user commands. Imagine changing your view or enabling certain program features based on your eyes.
