This is how you exploit Kinect’s motion capture feature; by creating a software that can fine tune and create motion capture avatars. The Kinect iPiSoft Motion Capture software gives users in-depth customization and control of their virtual avatars. This video by Joe McPeek displays the fine details that can be customized in iPiSoft’s Motion Capture Software. In this video, users display how easy motion capture becomes thanks to the Kinect iPiSoft. With it being plug and play and made specifically for the Kinect camera, an affordable and fully detailed motion capture feature can be utilized by any Kinect user. Another great thing about the iPiSoft is the different kinds of files that your data can be saved unto. This means that popular animation studios and software are compatible with the iPiSoft.

Here is a description by the developers:

“There is now an awesome great character animation software made
specifically for the kinect camera. It lets you make mocap or motion
capture animation literally on your desktop.

The brand new “iPiSoft Studio” animation software is literally plug
and play, requires 0 calibration and is amazingly powerful. What you
can do with this program is almost indescribable, but I will try.

Basically you can track your body movements then export the motion as
a BVH, FBX or Collada File. And it also auto retargets motions onto an
imported rigg. With support for all major Animation programs,
including, I/O options for Daz, Poser 3D Max, Blender, Endorhin and
Motion Builder and more..”
