It’s always interesting to see what people have been doing with the Kinect’s gesture detection and depth analysis capabilities. Usually, it ends up getting combined with other up and coming tech. Today’s featured hack is a great example of that as it uses a fan-favorite version of Linux, a projector and our favorite device, the Kinect.
According to the developer, their project uses pico projectors and Ubuntu with the Kinect to turn any surface touch sensitive. While their output seems like it’s still in the early stages, you can see that it’s already quite responsive and could have a lot of potential uses down the line.
We’re looking forward to seeing how this project progresses!
