A new breed of Kinect robots have arrived! The Kinect Hand Tracking Robot detects the user’s hand and adjusts its position accordingly. This video by¬†Darren Lewis showcases the new feature of Kinect robots at work at this local exhibit. In the video, users are seen moving the robot using their hand in a touch-free environment. The Kinect mounted on the robot is able to isolate and detect the user’s hand. This then allows the robot to move in sync with the user, making a a more convenient and natural control panel for both user and robot. This simple application of the Kinect will definitely lead to more innovations in the future!
